Buy a new one. If it's getting rotten, it's time to get a new one. Fake ponytails don't cost much. If it's one of your favorite styles to wear maybe you could get a wholesale amount on a few. It sounds like you have a synthetic ponytail. If that's the case, your best bet is to just toss it and start all over.

Why don't you try combing it and putting some moisturizer on it. It doesn't sound like a good idea to have a ponytail like this if it's rotten and nappy. I think your best bet would be to take this old one out and put a new one in.

okk, As far as I know what you do is take it out and throw it away. Am sorry to disappoint you but there's no other solution for synthetic hair, if you are talking about human hair, it must have some kind of synthetic mix in it because after you wash human hair and moisturize it it would look normal again. Then again as far as rottening....I've never heard of that part before, why would do you keep a rotten pony. don't it smells funny?

Next time you get your hair cut bring your ponytail along and ask your stylist to trim the edges up.
P.S. I got my fake ponytail trimmed about 3 inches because it was so fake looking and i also got it layered and it looks very very real.

The fake hair needs attention too! Keep it clean. Also, you may need to trim the ends of it occasionally. Just like real hair, it can split.

Gentle clip the ends just clip the rotted ends, if you dont trust your self to do this then go to the hair saloon and explain whats going with your hair.
