how does it change anything? None of us were here, so none of us will ever truly know, and what effect does it really have on our lives today? WE ARE ALREADY HERE--monkeys learning, playdoh people--it's all just theories in the end because until we develop time travel or a retrocognitive television system, we will never truly know--why can't we just accept that and move on ?

I agree. And the answer is because the way we got here is unknowable, so therefore it's something to argue about. Silly, isn't it? Blessed be, sister.

back when i was young and energetic, I wondered about the where and why, because there were so many rules. do not steal. do not kill. don't run red lights. be polite. blahblahblah. If there were no supreme being then it boiled down to the strongest over the weaker. I did not like that. And i wanted to do just exactly as i liked with no consequences. And in school the teachers kept yapping about a "missing link" how would they know if they found it as they didn't know what they were looking for.? A why not steal, if you could get away with it great. Now math and English, those were good subjects. They had a purpose. Talk people into doing what you want, and math. Make money. workable. But the theory part, no sirree. my way or the highway. only one thing wrong, I was lonely. had lots of friends, but no one really understood me. Always getting it wrong. Then finally I met Him who lives in my heart. I no longer need try to explain anything He knows. I am no longer lonely.

That's like asking why we want to learn anything at all. Learning all we can about the universe can help us to survive as a species. There is nothing that is not worth knowing, no matter how unimportant it seems. Knowledge is what puts our species ahead of all others. It really is power as the saying goes.

We can never be 100% percent sure about how the universe began, but we can be pretty certain. As for Evolution, only a fool can dispute it.

rofl!

well, im sure i dont know endora.

But they will harp on about god en creationism vs big bang vs cosmic vomit froma passing metour vs godknows what...they allways do.

I think living in the now is for the best provided u take the time to study the past so that we can be sure of not making repeat mistakes in the future.

If i was to hazard a guess id say darwin got it right but the bible thumpers will come at me with knives if i say it tooooo openly.

anyway, a good point to make and the best of times to make it... lets stop bickering en get down to some festive drinking.

Merry xmas

~~~ Endora,,, Why didn't humans just accept that once you reach the beach, that is all? ,,, They built a boat. Why can other things fly and not me? They built a boat. ,,,Why not just accept that Winter comes and goes just like Summer? They built huge structures to mark the times exactly. Then a clock,,,then a watch. Do you now recognize the theme? Man's quest for Higher Knowledge and Understanding. It also appeals to his Spiritual Hunger, thus,,,Man's continued developement of his own Awareness, his awareness of The Universe and his Reason for "Being"
All that we learn is just for fun., for all that we learn is to be forgoten only when we go. We brought nothing while coming and shall therefore take nothing while going . We won't remember even our name . lest we shall not be dead .Are we born just to die ?We did not plan to come here , We were brought here without our consent or asking and we are sent out to without our consent and will.We shall have fun as long as we are here playing our role .We did not have a predetermined purpose in comig here , We can if we so desire create a purpose and it shall be also lasting only as long as we last . So we need have no worry as long as we are here for worries do nothing to us .The knowledge we aquire here , the degrees we secure here will all be nothing when we go . We shall not be different from the one who learnt nothing in this world .Nature treats all alike , the saint and the sinner , the learned and the illiterate , the rich and the poor , the white and the black , the tall and the short , will alike forget everything they know , even thier own name ,while they go .If they rememebered anyting they shall not be qualified to go.So it might not be necessary for all to know how things were made and how the universe came into being . but for those who want to enjoy doing sometnng and finding a solution to some quizz , it is fun to know things . so those who wnat to have some fun , have it and those who do not want any fun , can just eat and sleep till they fall into eternal sleep !Why prevent them from having some fun? .
When you understand the true nature of your relationship to the Creator, you realize that in fact you are One with the universe.
Nothing is separate, separation is only an illusion. We are all made from the same underlying energy field, and just as the air in the kitchen is not separate from the air in the living room, nothing separates you from me, or anyone or anything else.
This fundamental understanding could save the world and allow us to create paradise on Earth.
I agree 100%
but then again, "god" is a theory too
I don't believe in god and I don't believe in evolution, people made them up so they'll put an end to their questions. I really don't care how we got here, BEING here is what's important.
You make a great point.
I know me. I cannot refrain from making a comment if I see someone write that the earth is 6000 years old. I just can't do it. Sorry.
I get a bit confused why branches of science are developed to refute other held beliefs. They should get back to QP and curing cancer
