I need a cheap hotel in a walk distance from any public transportation (ex:subway) to new york city !!?

I need to spend this week end in a hotel not a hostel but I need it as cheap as possible..
So, it is ok to stay in a far hotel from the attractions in new york city as long as the hotel is cheap and there is a subway to take me to new york city center..

Just about any place in NYC will have good transportation to Mid-Town Manhattan, ask at the front desk.
