Region 1 includes the US, Canada, and US territories. If you bought a DVD player that was made for that market, then yes.

It depends on ur player, in general cheaper players will play any reg dvd. branded players never really play multi reg.best way to find out is to buy a reg1 dvd cheaply on ebay if it works keep it, if not sell it again on ebay,
ps on the back of your player there should be a world shape and a number in it eg 1 if not its another sign it plays mutli reg and put dvd codes in your search engine and it might give u a code u put in your dvd player via remote, warrenty will be gone if u do this however

Where did you buy it? Region 1 is North America, so if you bought it there, it should play fine.
