While I have personally used a credit card to purchase via the Tiffany website. I'm not sure what limitations they have on the amount that may be charged to a credit card. You probably can use it, as long as it's approved. Most cards have a daily spending limit and depending on your definition of "large purchase," it may exceed the daily spending limit on your card.

Yes they accept credit cards. They also have a 10 or 12 month payment plan with no finance if you qualify. I suggestion you visit Tiffany just to survey the selections they have and get an idea of how much you are willing to spend. For example, my ring cost about $9,000 and it was only .79 carat. You also have to look for the 3 C's. Cut, Clarity, and Color which all determine the price.
I STRONGLY suggestion you take a trip to the store before hand. You might want to take you fiancé with you so she can have some input in the selection. If it's a surprise, then maybe one of her friends or maybe her mother.
I told my husband I wanted to have some input in selecting the ring. So he surprised me and proposed to me with a cheap ring he bought from Macy's. Then the next day we went to Tiffany to select the ring.
Whatever you do, MAKE THE PROPOSAL MEMORABLE. Us women dream about the PERFECT proposal. No stress RIGHT!
The people in Tiffany are very helpful. Good luck and Happy Holiday.

LOL- any large chain or store will.
Tiffany does!!
You can also order on line or call for a catolgue if you don't want to go in the store or just get an idea of their prices.

Probably, call the store and ask. They are accustomed to wealthy customers, so I would assume they do accept credit cards, as the charge would be approved immediately through your credit card company.

Yes they do. They don't expect people to walk in and plunk down 20 grand in 100 dollar bills.
