I am working off of a regular sugar cookie recipe and it doesn't mention anything about adding sprinkles (like the red and green sugar crystals) Do you add it before of after you bake it?

I add them before...other wise they just fall off..unless youre going to use icing, you put them on after!

It's tough to get them to stick either way, without frosting. Sprinkle them on before baking and gently press them into the cookies.
Or, dip the bottom of a glass in sprinkles and use it to flatten the cookie, instead of cutting them out.

I usually add them right after they come out Like about 2 or 3 minutes after they have cooled off because if the cookie is still hott then when u put the sprinkles on then they will melt. Usually when I add them first they melt in the oven and then u don't see them but if u add them right when they get out the heat will hold them you can also try putting icing on the cookie and the sprinkes on top it looks really nice that way!

Ad them after you bake them. what you do is you make a thin glaze (castor sugar and water; make sure it is a thin paste). You take a kitchen brush and brush the cookies with it. It makes the sprinkles stick.

If its sugar crystals you can put them on before. but Jimmies(more commonly know as sprinkles, need to be put on after baking. If you put these on they will melt and your cookies will not look good.
*other tips do not pretoast coconut to use on cookies put it on before baking and it will toast perfectly.

If you are just putting sprinkles on you need to add them before baking. If you frost the cookies (Royal icing is best) you can add them before the icing hardens

The best thing to do is to brush the cookies with egg white and then put the sprinkles on before cooking.

right before I pop them in the oven to bake. they will kind melt little a stick to the top better.
