The best way to answer with being fair to others in looking it up on www.wikipedia.org. It says what happens. But seriously, don't read it. My friend did yesterday and wanted to tell me, I didn't want to hear. Seriously, go see it. wikipedia will tell you though.

He drops a dumbbell on his foot during training and is too injured to fight. So his son fills in for him and gets his butt kicked.
Then Rocky charges the ring and hits the nasty boxer with a crutch and knocks him out and the crowd carries him out of the arena while they play "Gonna Fly Now".
