if no menu or anything shows up, it's probably a bad capacitor, usually the one that's across the H out.

Is that a tube tv or what is called a CRT ??

You may have a circuit board that is acting up and you can try to unplug the tv an let it stay unplugged for several minutes, then plug back in and see if it will come on. Sometimes if the Power circuit board has overheated or has a fault, it will do that.

Some of the tv's will even have a code to let the tech know what is wrong by the number of flashes on the little light.

You may want to look it up in your manual or you can google the model number and put troubleshoot or not powering on or such. Good Luck

Turn on the Tv and see if you can bring up the MENU or channel numbers....
If you can, then the TV is ok and your source of video may be at fault.

If no menus seen, then I would suspect you need the Horiz output replaced...most common failure on TVs, next would be a shorted SMPS, but those SQUEAL.....you'd know it.

The "green light" indicates you are getting power to your tv. If you are getting your tv/cable service thru a local provider, and running your service connection thru a cable/digital tv box, then the problem lies in how you program your remote to pick up the signal. Refer to both your cable tv hook-up directions, as well as the directions for programming your tv remote. The same thing has happened to me on multiple occasions.
