You did not give your state--nor the age of your child. I would certainly check into the laws and to get help in that direction for your and the rest of your family's protection. Then I would get some help as to why your children are quitting school. It should never have gotten this far--perhaps some communication with child to find out what is going on in the school as to why they are quitting--is it something that is happening at the school--bullies perhaps? teachers can be just as much as a bully as the kids. Please do not give up on the children merely find out what it is that is causing this--perhaps drugs...

Same thing with runaways. Cant kisck em out but if there like 17 and runawaytheres "nothing the can do". Its crazy. Dropping out should NOT be an option. A teen is too immature yet to make such a life altering decision. Parents who allow it are hurting their kids.Even if they skip everyday,it wouldnt be you allowing them to just give up.

I mean, do people really want to spend their tax dollars locking up working adults whose only crime is their child didn't go to school?
That would really be a nonviolent criminal. I know you're hoping it will work as a deterrent. but no one wants to pay for more prisons to do this.

I guess I don't understand...do parents go to jail if a kid cuts school? That sounds like it would be unenforcable. Please explain more clearly...
