If you are asking just for city with no other qualifications then Ottawa is the best city. It is green, geographically good location in the country between Montreal and Toronto, good landscape, a beautiful river passing through it or by its side, multi-cultural, good school, technology and many other attractions. It has the character of a big city but small enough to be out of it in 20 minutes and it is a very welcoming city. It is my city and I love it.

define 'best"

Calgaray has lots of bars, very sprawled out (LA style), there is a shortage of housing, sort of a redneck/cowboy town.

Its got terrific views of the Rockies and a lot of parks..

Truth be told though I would rank Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Quebec City, Victoria, Halifax ahead of Calgary for "best" - - but really depends on what you like I suppose - if you like bars, cowboys and urban sprawl then, yes.

Oh god no.

Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa and Vancouver would all come before Calgary.

I would tend to try to stay away from the whole province of Alberta...

I don't think so. Each city has something special to offer. How can anyone say one is better than all the others?

Depends on what you like.

Regina and Saskatoon are both big enough cities to have EVERYTHING, yet small enough the average person can get around.
