I don't plan on being a pilot.

My vision is terrible. Even WITH glasses it's only as good as about 20/40 or 20/50. When I took my induction physical, they wanted me to read the eye chart without glasses. I told the guy I could save us both a little time if he looked through my glasses first. He did. I told him the top letter was probably "E". He had me put my glasses back on & try it again. I passed. I had a job in electronics/telecommunications.

The only way to know is to go down to the recruiting office or apply on-line at http://www.forces.ca/v3/engraph/home/home.aspx?bhcp=1
As one of the posters put it there are many more occupations other than pilot. If you love aircraft i suggest aviation or avionics technician. The sight requirement isn't so severe for these occupations and the job is very rewarding. If you have a degree the aere profession or even intel are also excellent choices.
There are also several trades that aren't directly touching aircraft but still just as important to aviation operations such as supply, weatherman, and ATC (but i believe atc has vision minimums).
I encourage you to follow your dreams. The air force has treated me well over the years and now I marvel over the new breed of recruits.

Only a small percentage of people in the airforce are actually pilots.

Ever considered in talking with all of the other services? How about talking to an Army Recruiter if we could TALK ABOUT SECURING A JOB POSITION INSTEAD OF A JOB FIELD? The Air Force only guarentees the field you will be assigned to from a wish list verus the Army where we will guarentee you in writing what job you will be trained for, just one of 200 jobs.

Are you serious?

Depending on the seriousness of your question, pick one answer from the two provided below.

Flip Answer: Sure they need bomb loaders with a seeing eye dog.

Serious Answer: Probably not. the Air Force has their choice of enlistees. And will reject you in favor of someone with better sight. Sorry. The Air Force can be a wonderful career but probably not for you.

Yes, you can. They still have some standards depending on the type of job you are place into, but there are plenty of people in the Air Force who wear glasses and contacts.

Good Career Choice!!! The Air Force was my career of choice for many, many, many years!!!!

As long as your vision is corrected to 20/20 by glasses or contacts you are good to go! If not your toast.

Sure you can. You probably won't be flying anything but a desk, but sure, they'll take you with bad eyes :)
