Whether it is normal or not... that is how I feel. I still get excited for my kids to open their presents and they are 7, 4, and 18 months.

This is my son's first Christmas! I am so excited. I want to give him his presents now! I have always been excited about Christmas though. But, it is normal to be excited about your children's Christmas. Your child is your whole world. You should want him or her to have a great Christmas. Not wanting that very much would be abnormal.

My children are 14 (15 on Christmas Eve), 11, 7 and 5 and I am still more excited than they are. I have to keep my hubby from giving them everything early which is really tough. Enjoy each and every Christmas. Before you know it, they will be grown and all you will have is the wonderful memories you are creating now.

YES! Its one of the joys of parenthood! I love Christmas now so much more then when I was a child! I love seeing the looks on my kids faces when they see what Santa has brought them! And what mom and dad got for them! I have four... My two youngest are 2 and 10 months.. so this will be my 2 year olds first "real" Christmas that he will remember and participate in and be excited for and this will be my babies first Christmas... but Even as they grow older that feeling is the same!

Sure. In fact, I think it's great that you care so much that your child has a great holiday, even though he/she has no idea what's going on. Have a great Christmas!

If you can remember your first Christmas you're ahead of the rest of us. But, the answer is usually a yes for all parents...and it will get even more-so as they get older. When they're 1 - 2, they really don't know what's going on...from there, it's all uphill.
A word of warning...parents always overspend for the those first one-two Christmases...but you could even buy at thrift stores and they wouldn't know themselves...so parents are usually buying for "them" and not so much for the kid. But, it will evolve to spending as much for just one present, when they're teenagers and up, as you did for everything you bought them when they were really young! Start saving now.

I think its to be expected - now you have someone to give to, someone to love and care for, to watch grow....you are now Mommy or Daddy and its your turn to pass things on....being more happy for babies 1st christmas than for yours is 100% normal

Yes I feel the same way. I don't really feel excited for Christmas for myself, but for my son. I just when we grow up and become parents are priorities change.
