We edit moives with computers nowadays but how did we do it when computers did not exsist?

film editing machines to manually splice film together. then came video editors with the rise of magnetic tape.

Most shows were live those days and done in one particular studio. The actors would take breaks and do the advertising as well so there was no need for editing. As far as movies are concerned, they had film rolls which they could cut and paste to get the desired effect.

In the old days they used a machine to look at the film frame by frame. Then used scissors and tape for the edit.
