Well, I myself hasn't, but my niece, and nephew I might add, a good friend of mine who just had a baby and owns a pizza joint have all worked out with pilates and everyone of them SWEAR by it. They all have said to be sure to use the Windsor Pilates. With the exception of my nephew, (who owns his own construction business in Iowa), the 2 ladies that I have mentioned are both very much in shape and have awesome bodies. The one who just had the baby, lost about 30 pounds in 2 months with the pilates. She only does it 3 times a week. They have sold me on it and I am about to embark on their adventure as well.

Good luck if you try it. Just don't give up, keep going!!!

I've been working out for over 10 years, & most of those have included Pilates. I LOVE them. I really like Jennifer Kries' videos. Hers are more centered on the sculpting & resistance muscle training rather than Cardio, though, so if the windsor pilates offers some cardio in it, i say go for it! Just pay attention to what the instructors on the tape tell you to do, & strive to follow their lead as much as you can. it can be tricky when the person on the tape is more flexible or whatever than you, but it really is a fantastic workout. A gym is SO not necessary for great fitness.

Yes, I work out to Pilates videos generally 5x/week. I rotate through different videos to keep challenging my body and to focus on different areas of my core. I have a selection of over 30, including videos by Jodi Brennan, Hilary Burnett, Ana Caban, Classical Pilates, Karen Garcia, Liz Gillies, Lara Hudson, Jennifer Kries, Romana Kryzanowska, Kristin McGee, Sarah Picot, Keli Roberts, Moira Stott-Merrithew, and Mari Winsor. (I bet you didn't know there were so many out there!)

I began my Pilates journey 5 years ago with a live class. I highly recommend that for beginners, as correct form is crucial to success with Pilates. Now that I'm more advanced and am finding it difficult to find a Pilates class I can regularly attend and a Pilates instructor I like near me, videos help me continue my progress and keep my practice consistent.

Results that I've gotten from Pilates:
*increased core strength
*better flexibility (although my yoga practice has contributed more to the latter)
*a tighter waist (but I haven't lost any fat - that has to come off from proper diet and cardiovascular exercise)
*better posture (I get asked if I have taken ballet because of the way I carry myself)
*a huge reduction in backaches (very important for someone who spends most of her day sitting!)
*improved coordination
*improved self-esteem and self-image

Yes, it is great for your body, expecially back and abs, but it is not really a fat burner.

I believe this answers your question, but if not, you may email me.

Good luck on your diet and fitness goals!
