I started having really bad headaches about 6 years ago, right around the time my son was born (no he's not the cause) but my headaches have got worse. Last year I was in the hospital for 3 days because my Blood Pressure got so high and my headaches we so bad and I lost feeling on the left side of my face for 10 days. They done a nerves test and said I lost some kind of nerve damage but I didn't have a stroke. But I still have the headaches and for the last year they have been practically every day! I have taken almost everything possible it seems like. From depression medicine, to toprol, and pain medicine. Nothing works.. Any one else with the same problem?

No it's not related to having HBP. They just placed my on the HBP medicine since my headaches were so frequent that my BP would go up with the headache/migrane.. I am no longer on the medicine, after 6 weeks on that one and they tries another one they took me off it because they determined I didn't have HBP, it was related to the headache/migrane.. Wierd and Crazy I know! Plus Aggrevating.. Thank you all for your advice

i find that yoga and dance meditation help the headaces a lot.
there are hormonal components to headaches.
i get "hormonal headaches". i have them a lot and it's
discouraging. also there are breathing treatments.
anna coy has breathing CDs and i think they help.
breathing and yoga would be something to try if you have found nothing that helps in 6 years. Also alexander technique and cranial sacral therapy have worked wonders on headaches.

Last year for almost 2 weeks my head hurt constantly everyday. I do have problems with my sinuses. One side of my face felt a little numb. I went to the dr. and was told that I had a pinched nerve. I was so afraid that I'd had a stroke. Most of the time my blood pressure is normal. If I were you I'd be very careful, get regular checkups and maybe changed my diet. My friend was having constant headaches. She found out that she brain tumors and is very lucky to be alive today after chemo and radiation.

Are the headaches caused by high blood pressure? If so then you need medication for that. If you are taking meds for it maybe it isn't the right one, or it could be a side effect of the med. I read that you are taking toprol which is for HBP. Are you still on it?If so get a blood pressure cuff at the pharmacy and monitor your pressure every day. Be sure to take it at the same time and record the reading. Show this to your doctor because then at least you can determine if the headaches are being brought on from HBP or not

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Yes, I have had them since I was 12. Everyday! I am now in my 50's. No one knows from what. My mom always had headaches. Maybe it is hereditary

It could be due to stress. So many medicines don't help. Also, migraines sound like a definite on what you're experiencing. My mother has migraines, we think due to stress, and she is very depressed which doesn't help. She was on so many medicines, and became addicted to the narcotics. Have you ever had a stress test done? Also, have the done in scans of your head?

I'm sorry I don't know exactly what to say.

You need to see a new doc and find out what is going on. There is a cause for them and I would not let them go untreated like this. Granted you have been tested and tried the preventative medicines but something is going on and I would consider trying a new doc to get to the bottom of this.

i used to hav migrains every day, but i figured out most of the causes and stopped doing those things. my sister has a pinched nerve in her neck and has had massivee headaches for the past 3 years and will for the rest of her life. u need to get that nerve checked out and sometimes they can unpinch it but unfortunatly ussually not. u probably will end up with cortizone shots. good luck!
