It's disingenous to say only religion gives you hope.

What you mean to say is, 'for me, nothing else gives me hope. therefore, those people who don't have religion have no hope.'

You're starting with the faulty premise that everyone hopes for the same thing you do. This is probably outside of your faculties, but atheists aren't aliens - they live normal day to day lives like you do. They have aspirations, and dreams too.

I'm not an atheist, I do believe in god, but I respect the rights of others too.

Expectations, that is. Hope is for the faithful.

My expectations on seeing the rise of human intelligence from the throes of ignorant, dogmatic thought are decreasing with time.

Humanity is doomed to thrive in ignorance, fueled by the media and a lack of scientific reasoning.

I hope to make the world a better place, and that you will do the same. I hope that more people will think about others right now rather than their own reward in "the afterlife".

I have hope that people will continue to become both smarter and wiser with each generation. I hope that more of us will recognize what marvellous creatures we are and how great it is to be alive, especially in view of the llloooonnnnngggg odds against it.

And every time I read history, my hope is reinforced.

My hope is one born of a true need to be at peace with you....

My hope is that one day you will go away en masse.....

My belief is that you will be falling over the cliff following the other LEMMINGS as they fall into the Sea......

atheists hold on to the idea that someday people wont be so wrapped up in man made religions and learn to think for themselves and question authority.
