I just had a taco salad. The bowl is a taco that can be eaten! It is so filling. Not very healthy because the "bowl" is greasy! Who had it before?? Did you like it?

Oh, they are delicious! I've been ordering them for years. You can make those bowls at home, but they can be a little tricky. You need a lot of oil, a deep pot, and a ladle. Heat the oil to 350-375, lay the tortilla on top of the oil and press down in the middle with a ladle and hold it there until it turns color. Gently remove and drain upside down on paper towels.

Then fill with your favorite taco fillings!

I love taco salad. The "bowl" should not be greasy. When the tortilla is fried, the oil should be fresh and when the tortilla is done, it should be drained so that the excess oil doesn't stay on it.

I use to be a server at tumbleweed and we had those the shells are so greasy because we dunked them into the fryer and used a ladel to make them that shape. They are sooooooo good they also serve them at don pablo's and there shells are not greasey at all they are baked and they are priced cheap and very filling

I've had them and loved it! Maybe next time you could try to make it yourself. They sell non-stick forms for shells at the grocery store. Try using whole wheat tortillas or low carb versions (dairy case). With these forms you don't fry them, you bake them. Nothing sticks, therefor, no oil needed. They are great and save a TON of fat and calories! Enjoy!

I've tried it before yes, but didn't really eat much of the bowl. I think it's intended to be like crackers are to soup. Just for dipping.

Yes I have had them and liked, but the beef was halal, which by the way is not NOT meat with spices. It is meat that comes from an animal that has been slaughtered properly and does not contain pork.
