It's ok to drink, but not to the state of drunkeness...I forgot the part of scripture that actually answers this, though.

The question is WHY is the reason for drinking?
Is everybody else is doing it?
Is it because you like alcohol?
The answer really lies within you, The Bible only gives you the requirement of NOT getting drunk or buzzed (which is the same as drunk)
EXAMPLE 1:
Your friend is a new Christian and he was a heavy party animal, drinking in front of him or with him might lead him to fall again into heavy partying.
EXAMPLE 2:
Your testimony as a Christian could be misinterpreted, if someone sees you with a beer or a glass of wine, it could lead to people thinking that its ok to drink as much as you want, people tend to exaggerate what they see.

Having a drink or two is not a sin. The Bible says "a little wine is good for the stomach". Jesus' first miracle was turning water into wine at the wedding in Cana. He would not have done this if drinking wine was wrong.

Remember that Jesus' first miracle was turning water into wine at a wedding! I believe this makes it OK to drink. After all, what's good enough for Jesus, surely has to be for us. The problem is when you do it in excess. Then it becomes a sin. Jesus wants us to socialize and have a good time in the company of others. Enjoy yourself, loosen up with others...and don't be weighed down by the rules of "man" that state it's a sin to drink at all.
Merry CHRIST-mas and GOD BLESS!

The wine referred to in the bible is grapejuice, non firmented. If you do a search for wine in the Bible you will see the term "wine" is used for to describe grapes as in "they went into the vineyard to harvest the wine....". The bible differentiates between intoxicating dring and grape juice or wine. On the Other hand, in the book of Timothy talking about the qualifications for deacons and elders it says elders are not to have any strong drink but deacons are not to have much strong drink so I am a bit confused onthis topic. Being "sober-minded" at all times means intoxication is a sin according to Jesus.

Look in the gospels. At the Last Supper Jesus and the Apostles drink wine. At the wedding feast of Cana, Jesus turned water into wine. Although most Christians frown upon drunkenness and intemperance: complete teatotaling is not required.

It's ok to drink but do not get drunk.
It's just better to not start drinking and get caught up into the temptation. That is why most Christians prefer not to.

I think it's Ok, since Jesus turned water into wine. He wouldn't have done that if it were not ok. Just try not to drink too much.

No one here can tell you this. Neither can your mother, your pastor, your sister, your husband, or anyone else. It's your relationship with your god that's important.
If you think that it's wrong, then don't drink it. If you don't have a problem with it, then drink.
