Ok, I have known this guy for about 3months and we speak on msn every day (we didn't meet on the internet), we also text and speak on the phone almost daily. I saw him the other day (not for the first time) and we sat talking for ages. Whenever I was speaking he was looking into my eyes really intensely and was really listening to what I was saying (we were just talking about general stuff). Then when he went to leave, he kissed and hugged me several times. He lovingly held me in his arms, it was so nice. He said he didn't want to go home but he did have to go (hes not got another girl and hes not gay). Two hours later he text me apologising about before and said he thinks we should "carry on being friends". I have spoken to him since and he hasn't mentioned it at all. When we were together I could tell there were feelings between us and I just don't understand why hes now saying we should just be friends? Pls help!!! Serious answers only pls!

You're not alone. Obviously he shares the same feelings as you. However, he doesn't want you off his check list... meaning... he would seriously consider dating you. So when he said he should carry on being friends.... don't take it too negatively or positively. It could mean a lot of things. The mystery is... you have no idea what he wants from you and why he kissed you.

All I'm saying is have some hope but don't expect anything from him yet. Hold onto your expectations.... get busy with what you do.

Sounds as though he doesn't really know what he wants- or didn't until now. You could talk to him about it but maybe he does just want to be friends. It's hard and the only advice I can really offer that might help is that you're not alone...

"Listening to each other and what friends were saying we realised it was the same things. Guys seeming keen and disappearing off the face of the earth or reeling you in and then going cold when you actually admitted you liked them. Time after time one burning question kept coming up, simply…Will He Call?"

This site is devoted to times like this when it's confusing and it can feel so horrible not understanding what's going on. Don't despair, there are people here for moral support.

He probably doesnt want to spoil your friendship just in case you dont feel the same...its nice that he may be considering your feelings...mention it to him and maybe you can get to the bottom of it (maybe just say you think he has good qualities - hes good boyfriend material...) then see how he reacts if he thinks you do like him like that

Maybe there are reasons that he can't get seriously involved yet. Maybe he has plans for further education, and a girl would get in the way.

Give it some time. If it's meant to be, it'll happen.

Maybe he is afraid of getting hurt. Do you know of his past relationship...maybe he got hurt?
Or maybe he does not want to ruin the relationship you have.
I would just ask him , ask him why did he kiss you, act all sweet and nice to you, and now say that he only wants to be friends..?

He's nervous and need reassurance and a little come on from you.. Try text flirting use innuendo to suggest that you want to be more than friends.
