Why do men in white vans and 4x4 owners drive like they are in a touring car championship ? don't you need a licence to drive them ..Cos how they actually past a test lord only knows......!

We seem to have a lot of support for these bad drivers and according to some of the answers that actually drive for a living !! Now thats worrying what happened to practice makes perfect obviously does'nt count in this case.

I'm always having some fool in a white van driving right up to my back bumper on my way to work, granted its 630am so pretty quiet but still!! annoys me so much!!!
if everyone re-took their tests I swear most of them would fail, the dangerous fools!!

Your question isn't really fair. I drive a large SUV 4 x 4 and have never had a crash or gotten a ticket in it. The reason I drive such a vehicle is so I can tow the family camping trailer and have everyone in one vehicle. It's like saying all blonds are stupid or all police officers like donuts and coffee. A generalization that is often wrong.

I don't drive, but I can tell you that drivers who think and boast that they are good are always rubbish and dangerous drivers.
The problem seems to be that only a fraction of road users have any patience, and virtually all break the law. Including white van man and four wheel drive vehicles.

Don't tar us all with the same brush, it's unfair.
I'm a courier, I drive a van that is white, and I drive very carefully and safely. Indicating when making a turn, lights on in grim weathers. Allowing other motorists to pull out when safe to do so.
Driving mostly at 60mph on motorways, to conserve fuel, because costs come out of my pocket.
It is a shame that not all MOTORISTS behave in this manner, then we may see both a reduction in road-rage and accidents on the roads.

My Husband drives a 4 x 4. The only reason he has got that type is because its a company car that needs a heavy towing vehicle, not through choice. He is a very careful driver, so don't go tarring everyone with the same brush. You sound as if you're jealous of them really??

nicely on the dual carriageway,the white van drives like there is not any the following day,and the taxi motive force like he's on a rustic highway,utilizing down the middle lane at about 50mph,swerving in all places,in spite of the first lane being empty,sorry yet both are an twist of destiny waiting to take position

i drive a white van for my job and what i have noticed is that everyone does not like being overtaken by a white van,when they are they speed up and think that they are clever overtaking us then pulling in front and driving like a t w a t.
it ain't just white van men who drive stupid its the other a s s h o l e s on the road

it's spelled "because" not cos. It's not fair to categorize people. If you really want to worry about drivers, worry about the one's who have their seats WAAAAY back so they're nearly laying down while they drive. not only unsafe, but just plain stupid.
And how about those moronic mufflers they're using now? and the Ultimate in STUPID, a wing on a front wheel drive car. what does it do? NOTHING!
Maxi pads need wings, not cars.

driving to work on these foggy mornings many white van men have nearly blown me off the road, some have no lights on, and drive much faster than the 30mph . limit.personally i think its cos they have deadlines to meet and dont care how they do it.

I see more BMW and Mercedes drivers cutting in and out and traveling at breakneck speeds than vans or 4X4's.
