Nature is God and God is Nature. Kerala is a Natural Place and there is no wonder the God resides there. The service to God is not very much commercialised in Kerala as in other places.

They say that it rained blood here.
But this red rain was probably material that was drag out of the sea from hydrothermal vents.
They say that these cells can live in temperatures of 300*C under immense pressure.
It would appear that these organille things were pushed up by convection currents to the sea surface and then a strong wind made the sea so rough that it sprayed into the air, was carried into the clouds and dumped in Kerala, which after all is a coastal area.
There was some big storms then.
They say that well hat wer dug was gone and that others appeared; this would probably be because of the storms.
Tornadoes are siad to pick up all sorts of wierd materials.
Look at this site and you will find this facinating; ensure to look at the scientific articals on the links...

Some people think that it is from God.
