it depends on a lot. For example your maturity and your life experiences. At 16 you are in the middle between acting like a chile and an adult. It's a tough age

Yes, you are a child at 16. I understand that there are mature 16 year olds out there, and that's great. I was one of those people when I was 16. I had done a lot of living at that point, and I thought I was very grown up. But looking back now I was far from it, despite the fact that I was mature for my age, there are just some things that you can't possibly understand until get older.

Yes. If you think about that story of many blind people feeling an elephant and thinking they understand the whole of what they are feeling, you get some inkling of why one can feel so mature at 16 and still be such a child.

At 16, you have absolutely no idea of the things you don't know. The unknown unknowns, as a former sec def famously put it, will amaze you, trip you up, challenge you, scare you, defeat you temporarily, reorder the way you view life. And then, you will be less a child.

I think it depends.

At 16, one is able to drive, work, pay taxes, choose a career path & college, and in my case- have a child.

Looking back I can see where I wasn't as mature as I thought I was & I can see where I would make different choices now.

I think a 16 year old is capable of making wise choices but I also know that It is difficult- someone of that age is going through a lot of changes & can be fairly unstable, which is heightened by peer pressure.

I think a 16 year old needs enough freedom to make some of their own choices (and learn from some mistakes) but they also need to have structure & boundries so things don't get out of hand.

Yes. It doesn't seem like it at the time though. I though I wasn't a child anymore, but when I was around 22 or 23 I looked back at saw how much of a child I still was at that time. Your brain is not fully developed until around 21, so it makes sense.

It depends on the person! i started to mature at an early age and now i sometimes want to take it back but cant. People think i am much older for my age! But I am 16 and im considerd a adult, just cant drink or smoke! I have a family now and having my own family also made me grow up much faster!

It depends on what context you are talking about. In most states, you are still considered a minor at the age of 16. Psychologically/physically speaking you are an adolescent.

yes legally and mentally you are still a child ( a young adult but a child) You have no legal rights at that age but your parents should be loosing up by now to let you learn your own mistakes.
