Because as he said his kingdom was not of this earth, his place is in heaven seated on the right hand of his Father. He will rule over the earth from heaven for one thousand years then give the kingdom back to his Father.

That's not why came here. His first visit was to prepare people for his second one by giving them a way out from the curse that had been placed on the earth, and enabling them to have a relationship with God (Revelation 5:9-10). (That's why animal sacrifice, in the OT, stopped.)
When He comes again, he will have a war with "the beast" and his followers (Rev. 19:19 read chpt. 18 also). The beast and his prophet will be thrown into hell and his followers will be killed, and Satan will be thrown into " the abyss" (20:3). Then the people that were beheaded for refusing the mark of the beast will be resurrected and will rule the earth with Jesus for 1000 years (20:4).
Satan will be released again and regain supporters that will help him fight God. Fire will come down from the sky and destroy them, and Satan will be thrown into hell (20:7-10).
Then everyone that was ever born will be resurrected and face God's judgment. Those who are in the book of life will continue to live. Those who aren't will be thrown into hell (20:12-15)

Because he said his kingdom was no part of this world. He is the King of God's Kingdom and he rules at the right hand of God in heaven.
John 18:36
Ps. 110:1

A. Mercer: Valid questions, as far as preaching to other countries, he was Jewish and as they were God's Chosen people at the time, he preached to them first, he only preached 3 1/2 years. Plus most of those countries had not been discovered . But he did die for all of them too.

All those who died before Jesus, are still asleep in the grave waiting for the resurrection. Whether they worshiped God or not, they have paid for their sins by their death and have the hope of a resurrection. Only God can say if someone does not deserve to live again.

Or why did he not try to go and do something for the other millions of people living elsewhere on the planet. Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, North America, Pacific Islands, plus lots of other places. Sort of played favorites, didn't he.

What happened to the souls of all those who were living back then and did not know to worship him? Did he just let them be cast into the fiery pits of hell because he did not bother to go there and let them know he was in charge? Or did he have some sort of grandfather clause that let these guys into heaven because they never got the memo about the christianity thing?

He has a plan and it is perfect for His love is perfect.
But selfishly I wish he could be here right now in physical form that the human eye could see. He is however here daily in the Blessed Eucharist.
