This is a ridiculous question. Puerto Rico didn't exist as a political entity until many centuries after Christ walked in Palestine. How then can you call his name Puerto Rican? The name we have is a Greek translation of his Hebrew name. Yeshua or Joshua is closer to correct. Nevertheless, Puerto Rico had nothing to do with it. Many people use Biblical names for their children. Maybe the mothers in Puerto Rico like the name Jesus.

Umm first off for Jesus to even be a relevant name in Hebrew it would be spelled Iesus, as there is no J in hebrew. Second his name was Yeshua, Y'Shua.

It might be because after Jesus was born many Hispanics name their child after him, so you got it the other way around. Besides Jesus is a Hebrew name only no spell w/ a j(no j in Hebrew)
