my sister is 13 and we had no contact until recently. Our uncle sexuallay abused me and i felt that she should know. i wanted to tell her what happened with out going into detail but in a way that she would understand ...this is what i wrote to her.Okay (deep breath) Uncle G was inappropriate with me. He touched me in ways that a grown man should not touch a little girl. It went on for years before I told anyone and now I constantly worry that he will do it to another little girl. I used to think he did it to C too but I could be wrong. It was very hard for me to go thru because it was right after I told on him that I stopped talking to Grandma J so I always thought she was mad at me or didn’t believe me. I just found out that Grandma J and Uncle J and Aunt R never knew. I am sorry to tell you this and I hope you aren’t mad at me for telling you. If he has always been good to you then there is no reason for you to feel any differently about him, I only told y

you for 2 reasons. The first being that I don’t want him to do the same thing to you and for you to not tell anyone and the second reason is so that you understand why I am uncomfortable talking about him. Again, V, please don’t be mad at me for telling you this. You are my little sister and I have missed having you in my life so much and I am so glad that we have each other now I don’t want to lose it ya know.

Sounds like you have been dealing with a lot of stuff in your life, I am so sorry when I hear of ANYONE having to deal with molestation. I think the letter sounds great. Do you want to start up a relationship with her again? If so I would put that in the letter. Tell her that even though you aren't close you love her and always will. The letter is perfect!!

Very nice. Only it could use a sentence or two of introduction, maybe saying how happy you are that she is in your life now and regretting that you need to tell her something sad. You said this at the end, but it would be good to say it at the beginning also.
