Standard 16 oz package of butter or margarine has 4 sticks.

Each stick is 1/2 cup. Most have the measurements printed on the individual stick wrapping.

Usually, they show tablespoon, 1/4, 1/3 and 1/2 cup increments.

Again, 1/2 cup being one whole stick.
