Belivers and Non believers of the bible isn't it possible that we are ALL right? I mean God is pretty ******* amazing no matter what religion. The power of Love is divine. The power to heal hearts and mind by the simple act of believing... amazing... maybe even scientific.

My theory is the bible was written as a way of recording history. But like anyother human bearing witness to an event.. perception comes into play. So these historical events were witnessed by many people with many backgrounds thus producing some rather colorful depictions of hat they had seen or heard. I agree with som many of the answers I see on this question. About all the death that God caused... well again that is just another story. I think there is thin threads of truth woven thru the bible, like based on a true story kind of thing. But the storys have been embellished apon to capture the readers imaginantion, and make the storys more re-tellable. We do it today. The disasters that the bible mentions like the flood, well science>along with history seems to show more and more evidence of this being a natural occurance, a cycle where the earth regenerates or evolves. The disasters that the bible mentions like the flood, well science>along with history seems to show more and more evidence of this being a natural occurance, a cycle where the earth regenerates or evolves. Lets play the tape today... what is happeneing can be seem from christians eyes as beginnings of the apocolypse or from Al Gore as Global Warming. The Ancient Mayans created a calendar that has been pretty accurate in predicting these earthly cycles.12 21 2012 is when the next 'rotation' of this calendar is said to take affect. This question all comes down to perception what we are told is what we believe, what we believe is what we see. For instance "Dr Tome blah blah blah, conducts an experiment he takes an Aborigine tribes man and has him sit on a rock near a draw bridge, where he is to watch the boats come and the bridge rise and the boat passes thru... The aborigine when asked what makes the bridge go up say the boat comes the bridge goes up. He has no knowledge of the m

He does not see the man in the tower who pushes the button causing the bridge to go up, so there for that man does not exist for him. Our minds are very powerful creators. Religion I think has dumbed this abilty to create for ourselves down to nothing... probably done by over zealous men eager to have power of others ... creating scary fables like what we see in the bible. Any way long answer but I think you get it.. our minds are the key. Just remember we can choose to believe whatever we want. So Question your Reality... daily.

I really don't see how everyone can be right. I mean, an Atheist says there is no god. A Christian says there is. How can a god both exist and not exist?

I don't believe anyone has gotten it right yet, and I don't believe anyone ever will.

What Jacob noticed have been extraterrestrial beings, the Akkadian time period is ilu, which grew to become elohim to the Hebrews. He even wrestled with one, and then he used to be renamed Israel. These extraterrestrial beings have been additionally the Nefilim and the ones incorrect by way of the pagans as gods. Perhaps it is given that the authors or the exceptional resources had exceptional memories of worried parties. Jesus for example, promised some of the robbers crucified with him that they're going to be in Paradise at the identical day. He didn't inform the robber that he can also be going to Hades while.

The Bible does not contradict itself. That is an ignorant statement brought on by people who don't understand it.
Your statement contradicts itself though. "belivers and non believers of the bible isn't it possible that we are ALL right?" Then "The power to heal hearts and mind by the simple act of believing... amazing... maybe even scientific."
How, then, can non believers be right, when you state you need the simple act of believing? Please put the crack pipe down!

I don't agree with you. I do not think that there is truth 'woven through' the bible. As a Christian, I tend to believe all of the bible, and if there is something that I do not understand, then I will pray and do more research on it.

One thing you will notice about many christians is that they will not accept any contradictions in the bible. They will simply say that "you don't understand it", so that's why it seems contradictory, or "you aren't interpreting it correctly" which is similar to the first.
Either way, contradictions will NOT be acknowledged. Period.

many non biblical people talked about Jesus claim of being the Christ, Pliny the Younger, Josephus, Tacitus.
He called himself the great "I Am' He said, "the Father and I are one" "I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me'
So was he a liar? a nut? or was he who he claimed to me?
By not deciding you have decided.

Err, "healing hearts and minds simply by believing" certainly isn't scientific. I barely even know what you mean by that, but I can almost assure you that science doesn't accept it.

There are some pretty black/white differences in our beliefs and conclusions. I don't think that there is anyway to match them up.

Example; God either exists or he doesn't.
