If the oven is sealed and in good working order, totally safe.

Microwave ovens use a magnetron tube to disperse radio waves throughout the oven. The wall is lined with metal so the radiation cannot escape unless your microwave is at least 30 years old or so. When the waves transmit through the food container, then they hit the food molecules. The molecules vibrate, which causes friction, or heat.
The only safe materials for the containers are ceramic, plastic, glass, and paper. The only reason why metal does not work is because arcing occurs, which means sparks come out.
Also, NEVER boil an egg in the microwave! The vibration causes the egg to explode.
Microwaves always enhance flavor and require a lot less cooking time. The food is still cooked the same way as conventional cooking, and nutritional value is definitely maintained.
So, in simple terms, microwave cookery is very safe! Hope this helps!

A properly maintained microwave oven is no more dangerous while operating than your cell phone. Modern microwave ovens are heavily shielded, and use much lower-power emitter coils than older models. As long as there is no damage to the lining of the oven, or the outer shell, there is no danger of anyone nearby being "microwaved."
Food cooked in a microwave is perfectly safe from a "radiation" point of view. Microwaves are short lived - as soon as the emitter shuts down any "radiation" is immeidately absorbed by the food and transformed into "heat" energy - faster than you can open the door.
However, microwaved food can have "hot-spots," which could be dangerously warm - which is why most packaged foods advise letting the cooked product sit for 1 to 2 minutes (sometimes longer, depending on the density of the food) to allow the heat to radiate throughout the food. Failure to do so may result in a scalded tongue - just like drinking boiling water.
Given the lack of residual heat that happens with conventional ovens, microwave ovens are actually safer than their "conventional" cousins, if properly used and maintained.

A microwave uses low levels of radiation ("microwaves") to cook food from the inside out. This doesn't "evenly" heat food... Microwaves produce this "scrambled energy blast" where heat is only a by-product of what's happening. The food gets blasted so much with microwaves that it gets hot.
There are spiritualists and scientists out there that say the "energy" of the food is changed from this "scrambled blast" and that the food may very well have lessened nutritional value from being heated in a microwave.
Personally, I get strange headaches whenever I'm near a running microwave... so I choose not to own one. I find that I ceramic hot plate in the oven works much better at thoroughly heating food. It's more natural... more "sun" or "fire"-like, like our truest, most natural sources of heat.
Ultimately.. go with what you feel. It works!

They are completely safe. Dont worry about it. I am just really paranoid so i dont stand in front of it while its cooking something. The microwave has complete saftiness the the waves are not harmful to the food at all. They just heat it up.

there is a LOT of debate on this issue....you should check out the book "Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know About"....he goes into good detail on why nobody should ever use microwave ovens ( i think something along the lines of the chemicals that are in the containers that you are heating up seep into the food that you eat)....besides that topic it is a really good book, makes you think.

This not safe at all. Men has invented Microwave and it is making men lazy. They are not doing the labour that their ancestors had done. If they do not do labour they will suffer from acute paralysis, joint pain, and spondilitis, phagoelectocyticsyndrome.Men should not take help of machines any more.
