This lady wanted to know why we disagree that the bible is factual. She got several answers.

The couple of answers that she agreed with got a thumbs up.

The answers from the people that the question was directed at got a thumbs down.

Now, those thumbs things are inconsequential, I know. But why ask a question directed at a group of people that you know that you are going to disagree with if you are going to consider their answers as bad answers? Is it just me? Does this seem absurd to you?

It does seem absurd. But then again it is ok to thumbs down people that disagree with you if their answers are not well thought out or not well written.

I think what you described is the point of thumbs up/down. She probably posted that question to see how many people would agree with her. Much like this question. Also, she is not the only one giving a thumbs up so how do you know it was she who agreed?

I think you've made an incorrect assumption that the asker is the one who gave the answers the "Thumbs down." I just went to the question and noticed three answers (posted before yours) that were critical of the question, yet had no "thumbs down." Yet, there were some AFTER these three. So I don't think you can blame the asker.

But does it REALLY matter?

Peace.

what was the question again? Oh no I missed it. Sorry.
If it was the one from Ms. Boop then I was surprised at how few got that little piece of irony. It just goes to show how few actually read and consider the question before they answer.

Whenever I respond to a question to which atheists also respond, I get quite a number of thumbs down. I don't think they like me very much. It makes me sad.

Absolutely. I sometimes even give a Best Answer to somebody who totally disagrees with me or even abuses me, simply because if I can rise above it I am better than them!!!!
