Ok a friend of mine saw my nativity scene on my buffet table and said it should not be displayed until Christmas Eve. Now I was like "What?...yeah right!". Ok because YAHOO has a lot of intelligent people out there...what are your thoughts on this...and do you believe this to be true? If it's a fact, can you back it with a source? My friend is Catholic...so I'm just wondering if this is some sort of catholic teaching. Nonetheless, I'm dying to know if this is true. I have just never heard of this.

Thank you - awaiting your response.

Hmm, I think not - hundreds, if not thousands of towns across the country have had their scenes up for weeks. One would think that someone would have objected by now.

However, one thing that I HAVE been told about nativity scenes is that the baby Jesus should not be placed in the scene until Christmas. Thus we are in Advent awaiting the birth (re-enactment). But this may be something that went the way of the 1970s as well. :o)
