Video 8 recorders use Video 8 tapes. NOT VHS.
They are small tapes that you can get from places like currys, dixons, etc.... The model you have will not use Hi-8 tapes unless it says Hi-8 on it. So only use Video 8 tapes. They are smaller than what you use in your video at home and will not fit or play in it at all.

It takes what is called "High8" tapes which are n't readily available in most stores as they have stopped manufacturing them. DV tapes are the norm which are smaller and has better quality ouput. However, you can try puchasing them online. Some stores may have them.

Judging by the "8", it probably takes 8mm tapes, still easily available from most electronics store although they are not the medium of choice anymore.

video 8 or hi8. they are the same size as the old audio cassettes [pre mp3 days]
