most dogs dont get their weight until around 2 years old and boxers arent fully mature until around 3. some boxers are smaller than others. i have a 2 year old that weighs 70lbs. it just depends. if u can see his ribs, try feeding him more or getting a nutritional supplement that will put on a few pounds. if you cant see his ribs and he seems to be healthy otherwise, i would just give him time and he should bulk up.

Is it a male or female? Males tend to be larger but, either way the dog is slightly under weight. I would have it vet checked and then give it more time and exercises to build muscle. Some dogs don't come in to full growth until two years of age. Don't try to fatten it up. Fat doesn't make healthier.

My older dog Ruffie she was like that too but the vet said that she is just going through a lot of changes and she will start gaining wait soon. She did. I think it might e the same way for your Boxer. Good Luck.

The average weight for a boxer is 55 – 75 lbs. I would contact your vet for more advice.

most boxers carry their weight in their torso and have long thin legs. If you're worried the dog is too heavy try weight control food and if you're worried about it being to thin then try adding sauces to the food like gravy or something.

He's only 1. Don't rush him. He will fill out as he gets older. As long as your vet is ok with this weight then I wouldn't worry about it.

You don't want to start a precedence of too much food...

for his size, that sounds okay. I have a Dalmatian, who is about the same size. He weights between 49 to 51 Pounds.

He's still young, I wouldn't worry. Some dogs can take as much as five years to finish filling out.

If your vet thinks his weight is healthy, he's fine.
