I really struggle with this now that I live back in England, but when I lived in South Africa, I used to drive down to the Drakensberg mountains and just put a tent up and go walking and climbing, in beautiful solitude.

I dont know where to go in Uk to achieve the same peacefulness I found there, and I find I always seem to be slightly more pent up all the time now.

Seaside will be my 1st choice. I lk 2 enjoy the silent of the seaside at the night. It is so comfortable when you lying on the sand and watch the sky full with the star.On the same time, we also can listen 2 the wave slapping on the sand.It is so great. But unfortune, now there is less and less seaside tht is really clearn and beautiful tht we can go for a walk at nitez. But, tht is still got some nice view seaside as I know.
Hope tht u now not so feeling pacing in your own cage!!
hv a gud day!! n.n

I usually go for a drive and play some really fun music, or music that will help me think. I have a route I travel regularly, so it allows me to halfway zone out without worrying about where I am. I can just concentrate on the music, being alone and out, etc. It's very relaxing. Driving almost makes you feel like you're escaping for a short period of time. :)

Take a walk in a park...breathe in the fresh air (well as fresh as london air gets)...sit by some water with weeping willow trees (this is a must!)...and try to relax and clear my mind of the stresses of the day

I'm about to start yoga so whenever I feel like this all i'll do is whip out my mat and do some yoga! - well thats the plan

I am feeling the same way this year. I haven't bought anybody any Christmas presents except for my son and it is racking my brain.
Usually, I like to go take a ride and listen to music and look at the scenery.

I understand what you mean.
When I need to escape I usually drive out to the countryside and take my dog for a long walk in the hills. Helps me to think through things that are stressing me out. My fav place would have to be going to a big empty beach for a long walk.
Listening to my fav music helps too.

I usually go to a movie. It's dark and I can leave the real world even if it is only for 2 hours or so.
