1. The muslims are not determined to kill anyone no more than we, the USA, appears determined to conquer and rule the entire world.
2. A new cold war is in the works and you can thank GWBush for that... Bush removed the USA from the ABT, anti-ballistic missile treaty in December 2001. (that's long range nuclear weapons for those that don't know). After seeing the USA take such an action, N.Korea then restarted its nuclear program... can you blame them?

I think the stuff we are going Through now is similar to other events that have taken place in history, just different people with more means of hurting the U.S. specifically. It will never go away but will lessen eventually, but then we will have new problems to deal with. Its an endless cycle. I think another difference is the wide spread media coverage that was never a problem before, so we know more about whats going on then ever before. It is no longer a white house secret that there are countries out to get us,But really its always been,

I think that the saying the muslims want to kill everyone is racist. I'm not muslim or anything, but still. The US, as someone already pointed out, is also racing to nuke people.

Well humanity has nuclear weapons, it's all of humanity that will pay for it. It's only a matter of time until they get used by some stupid human. I would say we are living on borrowed time as it is. I wonder whether the reason there does not seem to be any intelligent life in the universe beyond earth is because no civilization has survived this discovery.

Human nature does not change. The technology advances do allow for more carnage over a shorter period of time and at greater distances. The conflict is over ideology. If you have the mentality that allows you to stone someone to death and you are give nukes instead of stones, big problems will arise. There always are in cases when someone is educated beyond their intelligence.
