I am asking this question because the afterlife may not apply to me since I am an "unsaved" extraterrestrial and not a human being!

The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw man to himself.

Only in God will every man find the truth and happiness for which he never stops searching.

With love in Christ.

Well, according to traditional theology, belief in the Christian God doesn't mean going to the afterlife. Instead, for 90% of the religion's history, it was believed that God alone elected those he lived for salvation about the Fall of Man. (There was debate about if it was before or after the Fall.) The thing is, you won't know if God elected you until after you die, even if you are an extraterrestrial.

Maybe Scientology would be a better match for you, my alien friend.

Otherwise, the Church of the Flying Spaghetti monster might appeal because the followers dress up like pirates, and everyone goes to the after life which has a beer volcano and a stripper factory. (There is no Hell, just Hell Lite, but it's not too bad. I think there's just stale beer, but it's not for eternity.)

Ok this question always gets me laughing because why would we need another incentive? I mean, of course we gain everything with Christ Jesus- and the icing on the cake is His JOY and Peace and comfort and Him leading us into all truth.....but to knwo we are saved from hell?? THAT right there is enough for me to know that WOW GOD MUST LOVE ME! Because He died for me, and has forgiven my sins after I believed....and now not only am I saved from hell, but I love Him and I WANT to please him and follow Him- and He fills me with understanding and JOY, joy that is inexpressible. The joy of the Lord is nothing like the joy in this world- the joy in this world is not real joy.

Since God created the entire universe, it does apply to you too. But, the love and the joy that Jesus brings to my life is beyond your comprehension. Merry Christmas.

Having something to do with God should not primarily be about "what's in it for me."
First and foremost, it should be about showing appreciation and gratitude (dare I say 'love') for what he has already done.
