i think its rude to tell someone that is askin a health question people say rudely dont be comin on here were not Drs.that is rude and encourages people not to want to ask of course the people who have an account here know we are not Drs. we on all on here givin advice like u could say ur oppinion and the say u should let ur Dr know not be rude and say u shouldnt be on here lookin ...we are all here to give what we think because others have experienced different things ..were not here to be rude ..we shouldnt do that some people dont have rightful families to ask stuff so they turn to yahoo answers to get maybe an idea on what they should do ..i just think if people are gonna say that stuff they shouldnt even be answering,u could be the cause of someone not wanting to come back and could be a person who may be able to guide you in wat ever question u have we should all be nice and just be helpfull not rude!!

Well, I AM a doctor.

However, I don't know where you are and if my qualifications would be accepted in your country.

Furthermore, this sort of interaction is not a very good one for obtaining the information I need to make medical decisions. I can usually speak in general terms or give advice quite guardedly because I do not get to meet you, talk with you and ask you the usual questions that I would ask, do the physical examination or the tests I would normally do ...

I am always happy to offer an opinion, provided you understand the limitations of what I am saying.

Many people giving medical advice here are giving good general advice (like: go to a doctor and get antibiotics, or whatever). A few give wrong advice from a medical point of view.

I think you should understand the limitations of the advice you may receive or give on this site. This is not to say that you can't give medical advice. Just try to give good advice about peoples health.

I'm sorry you feel that way. You have to expect some hecklers. Some of these people just want to stir you up. Don't sweat it, if they are not smart enough to answer your question. That is all they know. So instead of being informative they take the lower road of intellect and decide to be insulting. I like you thats all that matters. Stick around and answer whatever you like. Oh yeah, and the guy above me probably isn't a doctor. I have worked for a doctors office and trust me, they have no time for Yahoo Answers...

I am a doctor. Why do you say doctors don't have time? That may be so in the USA. Conditions are not the same all over the world. I answer what I safely can without seeing the patient. If someone needs to see a doctor, I tell them to do so. I like helping people from all over the world, without knowing who or where they are. I like it when they thank me.

I think they say this so that you know it's only their opinion.
