Eat your fruits and veggies. Do not eat candy, drink regular soda or other snacks or drinks high in sugar and devoid of any nutrition. Talk to your parents about your concerns, try to get the family to go out for walks, or go by yourself... or walk your dog (if you have a dog). Try to do an exercise activity to reach your target heart rate for about 15-30 min at least three times a week. You may have to see your doctor to find out what that is and to make sure you're healthy enough for exercise.

180lbs and you're 5'9''? How is that gross? I was my healthiest at 181lbs and I'm only 5'5''! I wasn't exactly skinny or anything like that, but I was healthy, and I was in shape. I played basketball and softball, and I was a fairly quick runner. I lifted wieghts, more than the other girls. I could actually even benchpress more than two of the guys in my class. I was a size 10 back then. I don't think it has much to do with weight, to be honest. I mean it's deffinately an indictator on overall health, but I don't think it's the only thing that matter. You could lose fat and actually gain weight. Muscle weighs 3X as much as fat does. I would start slowly. Jumping into a diet and exercise program at full speed, increases your chance of quitting. Start one new, healthy habit, each week. This week start walking. Next week watch your portions. The week after that start jogging, or walking further. The only way to lose weight and keep it off is by making lifestyle changes. Exercise isn't a bad thing, it will make you feel better, you'll actually have more energy!

Move more (walk around the mall 2-3 times)
Eat less than you already do, but make sure you are eating a balanced diet and getting all of your lean protein, and veggies.
Drink nothing (no juice, no soda) except water... yes it's boring, but you'll get used to it.
I put a decaf, organic citrus green tea bag into my bottled water. I drink 2-3 of them a day. It makes it taste better.
NEVER eat fast food, processed food or convenience food! When in doubt, grab a mini carrot.
You can do it... pick out an outfit that you want to be able to fit into and take a picture of it. Put the picture where you see it on a daily basis, and that will help keep you focused.
You can do it... GO GIRL!!

14 isn't fully grown. Cut the junk out, soda, cakes, ect..... Natural sugars a treat every once in awhile isn't a bad thing. Just make healthy choices. Also eat only when your hungry and eat until your satisfied, not stuffed! Do about 20 minutes of cardio (at least) and some other exercises. This should keep you healthy, do over do it, sometimes skinny isn't beautiful.

Limit your calorie intake. The best thing to do is start noticing how many calories are in the foods you are eating. Just seeing a candy bar with 300 calories usually keeps me from buying it or eating it. Eat many small meals instead of 3 larger meals. Never eat after 7pm and try to make your dinner one the smallest meals. You don't need energy to sleep so it's not the most important meal of the day...besides, your metabolim slows down when you sleep. Eat a high protein breakfast and try to get a bit of exercise about 20 minutes after eating to give your metabolism a morning boast. Remember, you're 5'9", which is tall for a girl so you don't want to loose to much weight. Getting to skinny is just as gross as being to heavy.

At 14, I highly doubt your body is done growing, you still have about a good six years left to go before that happens. Your BMI (body mass index, the actual percentage of your body that is nothing but fat) is 26.6, and the "obesity" mark is 30.0. Go ahead and lose weight if you want, but remember: your body still needs to be nourished, so don't do it by doing something stupid like starving yourself. If you're going to lose weight, I highly recommend taking a multivitamin and a calcium supplement because at 14, your bones are nowhere near being done growing and the diet you do today at your age can have serious consequences down the line when you actually do get done growing. Good luck to you.
