Normally we would get paid on the day before the holiday but that is a weekend, so would we get paid on the Friday before?

Correct - you get paid the last "working" day before a holiday and/or weekend. However, payday is on the 15th and first day of the month. For December - you should have been paid on the 15th (a Friday) and on December 29th (the Friday before the 31st/1st).

The military paydays are 1st and 15Th of the month. If the payday falls on a holiday, you are paid the first working day before that holiday at midnight eastern time.

In the Marine Corp, it depends on your bank. If you keep the same account that they open for you at boot camp, you get your check a day earlier than the 1st and 15th. But as far as the the payday that falls on the 1st of Jan, you should get paid on the 29th of Dec.

Yes.

Military, Regardless of Branch of service, gets paid on the 1st and 15th of every month. if that is a holiday then payday is on the first business day before that.

At least this was the case when I was in.

You get paid on the 1st and 15th of the month. We have recieved our pay early only during one month, and that was when both paydays were on Sundays. So... I suppose you might be able to expect it that Saturday, but we've never been paid the *Friday* before... at least not to my knowledge (and trust me, the way I spend money.... I would know!) :)
