I know of a good restaurant called "Lucky Strike" - maybe that is what you are thinking of?

It on Grand Street & Wooster.

I've eaten there plenty of times, and it is really good. Good food, great drinks and sometimes they even have a DJ. You might have to wait a bit to get seated, but it is worth it.
