Actually, Lets ask Mexico how much they want to sell it to us. Baja is really nice.
So get a price tag on Baja. All of it.
Then we tell all of the Baja residents, it will eventually be the 51st state. If you don't want to be part of the USA, better leave, sell your stuff, what ever. If you want to be part of USA, study English, business, etc cause opportunity is on the way.
Then lets develop it and make it successful, and tell all of the folks from Mexico, Watch this, you could have done the same thing! Just like California, New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, Etc.
Then all of us can vacation there in the winter, not worry about all of the border hassles, bad water, etc.
Don't have to build a fence. How to pay for it? Just split the profits with Halliburton and Toyota, they will figure it out, between the savings of no one immigrating here much anymore.
Then the savings from most Illegals would prefer to be in Baja than Des Moines, and then we could work on some different programs and really embarrass the Mexican government for being such ignorant jack asses.

Don't be silly... we don't need the space. Montana, Wyoming, N Dakota, S Dakota, and Alaska are practically empty, not to mention the loads of space in Utah, Nebraska, Idaho, etc.
How is it that we as Americans can feel justified in calling anyone an illegal immigrant? Or looking down on someone who is an immigrant? At the end of the day, we are ALL illegal immigrants. I don't think those beads we gave the Indians 400 years ago could legally be considered compensation for over 3 million square miles of land. Also, new immigrants generally do that jobs that you or I don't want, anyway.... I don't want to work at McDonald's, and there's no way you will find me cleaning floors somewhere or taking out somebody's trash.
Most immigrants come to the US for a better life. They don't come to go on welfare or drain our financial resources. Enterprising people have always come to the US, because our society is (theoretically) the most open to new ideas and people, and we have marketed ourselves as the best country in the world.... I mean, who doesn't want "The American Dream?" If we don't want people to have it, we should stop shoving our culture down their throats.
One last item of note: Americans have the lowest taxes of any developed nation in the world. In Europe, the average taxation rate is 40-45%, and in some countries, like Belgium, it can be as high as 60%!!
If our grandparents or their grandparents hadn't come to the US, try to imagine what your life would be like right now. Unless you are Native American, you have no right to complain.

Apparently the Mexicans don't want it, why would we? If it's so great why aren't all these illegals go there and start a resort or something?

I thought we should just give southern cali to them since they complain about how it was theirs. Then once they take control of it they will realize that they actually NEED us and not the other way around like they say because it will be just another upper Mehicoooo.
