Use System Restore (Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools) to restore it to the state it was in before you installed IE7.

Internet explorer is an inherant part of the OS since Windows95, and a bad install will tend to cause problems across the board.

This fix should work for IE7 also.

Ok, here is how you can get to your control panel if you cannot see it in your list::

1. Press Ctrl-alt-delete
2. Make sure the applications tab is pressed, and click on "new task..."
3. Type in C: and press enter
4. Click on a blank spot inside the open folder and hit backspace once.
5. on the left hand side of the folder, you should see control panel click it.

:::

After you uninstall that and you stop getting explorer.exe errors, you should go into your system restore and restore back to the point before you installed IE7.

If i'm not correct in what you were asking, please add it in your details, and I will help you from there.

Call a Microsoft technician. They can bypass errors with specific bypass codes and junk like that. If the problem isn't too serious, they can tell you right over the phone. Since you don't have internet available (apparently), you could ask a friend to look it up for you. The Yellow Pages could also have the number for a nearby Microsoft office. Hope you fix it!

why can't you see your control panel? that's weird. do you have the IE icon on your desktop? if yes, then try deleting that. there should be a prompt that asks if you only want to delete the shortcut or uninstall the software. there's a link to the control panel there.

or an even easier solution, install mozilla firefox. soooo much better than IE and safer too!

I installed IE 7.0 and my printer software stopped working correctly. I uninstalled and reinstalled my printer. It didn't help. Then I learned that it was IE 7.0 that was the problem. I uninstalled it and computer reverted back to IE 6.0 and everything is working properly again.

Have you already tried looking for it under "Add/Remove Programs" AND "Add/Remove Windows Components"?

If that doesn't work, try a system restore:

Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore

Get rid of I.E. and try Firefox. I had the same issue you did with I.E. 7. I'm so glad I ditched it.
