I would like to help those from New Orleans who are still so affected by the disaster we called Katrina and it's aftermath. Where can I do this? I would like to donate food or gifts for Christmas, so a family that needs the help.

Many of the Katrina victims are now in the Houston, TX area and they are having quite a hard time. Besides loosing everything, they are unwelcome by many Houstonians because of the length of their stay and the burden (unwilling though it is) that they put on the local economy. You might check with some Houston shelters and food banks.

Contact your local Red Cross or see if your church or other civic organizations are doing anything.
