You can terminate any insurance whenever you feel like it! At most companies, you simply sign a cancellation form, and you're done.

Like everyone else said, you can cancel your auto insurance at any time upon your request... Just be careful.
Not all companies will pro-rate your premium. Some will charge you for cancelling the policy mid term. When you get insurance be sure to ask your agent whether or not they pro rate their cancellation (thats what you want). If they short-rate cancel it, then you are left paying a cancellation fee.

Yes, all insurance offer the ability to terminate coverage at any time. If you cancel in enough time, you'd even be eligible for a refund of unused premium.

As a practical matter, any insurance can be considered "temporary". You are free to cancel any time you wish. Any unearned premium will be refunded.

Which kind are you referring to? Life, health, disability?.....

All insurances can be terminated at any time. Once you miss your premiums, the coverage stops.
