I'm 36, and smoked two packs a day for 24 years. I quit 4/24/06, and haven't cheated once.
For the first few weeks I used the Commit lozenges to help. They really do help, I had tried everything else in the past, the inhaler, patches, Rx drugs, cold turkey. They didn't work. Went to the pulmonologist, and after hours of computerized testing, I couldn't believe there was only very minor, narrowing of bronchial tubes. That was just beginning, and completely reversable. I dodged the bullet, and won't go back.
Happy Holidays.

I have smoked since I was 14...damn 10 years now, but I have really started to drop the amount I smoke in a day :) I am down to about 4 a day, unless i drink then i end up smoking a few extra :) dipping and chewing is just plain nasty!

I started smoking when I was 15 and smoked for almost 20 years, then I quit cold turkey. Didn't smoke for almost 15 years then was out with my friends one night and decided to just have one or two, big mistake, I smoked for 3 years, twice as much as before. Then after I had my 4th upper respiratory infection in those 3 years I quit cold turkey again and have not smoked in almost 4 years. Don't get me wrong, I still want a smoke now and then, especially after a great meal and everyone else has lit up....

I have smoked for 8 years. I started smoking when I was 14. I would like to quit soon, maybe for a new years resolution. I quit once for 3 months.
