My mum cannot walk and they turned her down too. Shes in constant pain due to her back and even has an electronic box in her back ot try and relieve some of the pain for her.

She has it now, but she eventually went to the citizens advice bureau and they helped her appeal. That may be worth a try.

Hope everything gets better for you

Appeal. Have you applied for Disability Living Allowance cos you should qualify for that considering your circumstances. It's non dependant on your or anyone else's earnings. Though you must have been off work for a minimum of 3 months to qualify.

There are ssi disability attorneys who can help you at no cost. They get paid by Social Security when they get you approved. Most claims get denied at first but dont be disheartened an attorney can get them for you. I was in the insurance business in Chicago and worked with an attorrney that helped my clients on at least 7 occassions.

I'd get a lawyer to deal with the state. Your request will need to be appealed.

You can get welfare in some cases, especially if the damage is not work related. It could be you will need to file for that instead of disability.

You need the doctor to sign a statement of permanent disability.

The below legal firm can speed your application.

Writing your congressman and describing your case can also speed things along.

You should qualify. But, disability will usually turn you down the first two times. You can also get an attorney that can help you get it faster.

I receive disability money, I applied for it for my crohn's disease...was refused as it didn't state it stopped me being able to move around or live my life, therefore we didn't need the extra funds. I then got my doctor to write me a formal letter stating I had hypermobility w/ crohn's and they had no excuses!

Love to answer, but need to know the name of the disability benefit you've been refused.

They're all assessed differently and have different eligability criterea.
