I was impressed that a Republican president could see the immigration situation as clearly as i do, I hope that they really can get a immigration plan in the next year.

you may like to believe that the US majority has said "no" to a guest worker program, but that is not the case, dont confuse loud anti's with the majority of Americans.

President George Bush, a strong supporter of the guest-worker program, has long said that "family values don't stop at the Rio Grande." We are supposed to believe, however, that the work ethic does stop there. And it is only south of it that people can be found who are willing to work in construction, landscaping and agricultural jobs. So, without importing those people into our labor market, these jobs would go unfilled, disrupting the economy (and creating an epidemic of unkempt lawns in Southern California).
This is sheer nonsense. According to a new survey illegals make up 24 percent of workers in agriculture, 17 percent in cleaning, 14 percent in construction, and 12 percent in food production. So 86 percent of construction workers, for instance, are either legal immigrants or Americans, despite the fact that this is one of the alleged categories of untouchable jobs.

GWB is for anything that will raise that very very low public approval rating he now has with the American people.
Don't break out the mariachi's just yet remember all the other lies hes told about everything.I guess since the illegal alien supporters, pick and choose what laws to obey,I guess they will pick and choose what promises/lies GWB tells that they will believe. I would go for a day worker program,so that the people could come into the US every day and work, then go back to Mexico.Thats the guest worker plan that would work for me here in Arizona.Have buses pick them up at the border take them to thier jobs and return them to the border after work. They go home to their familys and everyones happy.

I wouldnt trust any thing GWB says or does.Neither should you.

Yeah, I've heard. All I know is I'm not happy with his continued pushing of this "guest worker program". I agree with enforcement of border security, but when the country so overwhelmingly (from the get-go) has said NO to guest-worker programs and the congress does not listen...

President Bush knows that illegal immigration is beneficial to big business. They have more of an impact on him than the average American. They are the ones in favor of illegal immigration while the majority of Americans are against it.

i missed his propaganda speech i will try to catch it later ,and don't kid yourself the majority of Americans don't want guest workers nor do they want illegal immigrants ,and do not forget we let people come legal so we are not cruel ,and don't forget mexico is not a poor country, and is well able to take care of their own people why should we subsidize their corruption?
