hearing voices in mentally ill?

hi why do peeps class peeps who hear voices when they have been diagnosed with a mental illness as mad but those who tell us they are pyschics etc: why are they not classed as mad?

when people hear voices as part of their mental illness this is due to increased levels of dopamine causing the auditory cortex of the brain to become active. They do in fact 'hear' the voices. Psychics, mediums sincerely belive that they can hear voices, this could either be a belief that they have, they may have thoughts inside their head and attribute these to spirits. If they are truly experiencinng auditory hallucinations then i would be more likely to belive that they are mentlly unwell. I personally feel that the majority of mediums or psychics are either slightly deluded or frauds.

Unfortunately we live in a world where there is a terrible problem of stigma. As someone with bipolar when I was on my university course of nursing I was constantly harrassed by my mentor a fully qualified staff nurse bullied me to such a degree I have left the course.

I am not sure about pyschics I dont know because if you are a person of science there would seem to be some type of mental illness however if you believe in an afterlife you would bedrawn to hope that maybe they can here stuff.

Because people who believe that psychics are able to hear the voices of their departed loved ones are usually seeking answers and the "answers" they receive help alleviate some of their grief. Whereas people who hear voices as part of a mental health condition are viewed as mad because the general population have no interest in that area, until they hear or read "horror" stories of people with mental health problems in the media.

the voices mentally ill hear are disturbing, as far as I know & seem to have a control over them, otherwise they wouldn't go & kill themsleves or do the things they tell to do (would u listen to anyone (voices or otherwise) who told you to harm yourself or others? I personally believe these are dark ,evil forces & like satan, they want to destroy people's lives.
psychics (the genuine ones & believe me there are genuine ones) hear voices from the spirit world (although they can also be approached by dark forces or spirits , the ones that know what they're doing know how to protect themsleves &donot let them near). psychics(mediums) usually hear the voices of the deceased who are in the spirit world, but other sources also (I don't know alot about it so I won't say anything) who guide them & help them (eg spirit guides & we all have a spirit guide).

Mentally ill people who hear voices are distressed by their voices generally and have other problems like motivating themselves and looking after themselves. Psychics, if they do truly hear voices, can generally function as "normal" people in the everyday world and their voices are usually benign and friendly, not telling them evil things about themselves or others. They do not get confused by their voices.

Is it useful information? Does it galvanize them to do good or injury? Is there a peace that surrounds this? If the solutions to it relatively is ''particular'' , you're possibly no longer mentally ill. ?Are they able to function ? I nonetheless remember whilst homosexuality replaced into psychological ailment. i ask your self whilst listening to from God will make the grade.

I'm a Christian. I believe there are many voices out there. I think that for some people it's how they deal with the voices as to why they are singled out.

because professional doctors do not believe in the paranormal and therefor classify anyone who hears voices as schizophrenic...science and mystic do not go hand in hand in this day and age :)
