hi most people go for ntl having said that
i was with ntl for a while i had the tv, internet and phone package, which was around £30 a month but after the phone calls bills were around £80 (and them adding things on to the bill), now im on aol for internet, is around £15 have freeview digi box, and with bt for phone just had the last bill and was £20 it works out much cheaper for us.
but again it depends on what you want
you could look at some of the web sites ntl is prob www.ntl.co.uk

If you want the best one and live in the right area it's Telewest.
Failing that NTL
They all become Virgin Media next year anyway and you'll even be able to get your mobile on the same bill.
They are really reliable once they install - although you may wait a while for that.
Stay away from Talk Talk or the 'free' broadbands they are awful!
