How do you turn off the airbag light on my 99 GMC Sonoma?

My airbag light on my 1999 GMC Sonoma pickup truck stays on. Is there a way to turn it off without bringing it in for service?

if its staying on all the time this means it has bad sensor on it,,other wise it may just be the passengers side one making it come on,,there should be a selector switch,,so that you have the option to cut it on or off,these have a sensor that causes this to happen its no big deal to repair,,and the air bag will still work right if you get in to an accident but it is annoying,this i know,,good luck,hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.,,PS you need to have this repaired as soon as you can.

Would kind of suck to have a 99 truck, get in an accident and the airbags not work or?
Worse yet what if there is a short and you are driving down the road and the airbag decides to deploy?
