I have given her those rawhide things you get from the store, and she finishes those off in less than 5 minutes practically. If you give her a ball to play with, she chews that up to! What can I give her to chew on that will keep her occupied?

rawhide is dangerous.. dogs have been autopsied with large chunks of undigested rawhide in their tummies...
LABS are dogs who need to have something in their mouth - they were bred to carry ducks...
PLUS she is teething

provide an assortment of toys
HARD - Nylabone type
Medium - Rope toys... Rubber Kong Type (you can get different strenghts and can stuff these with peanut butter to keep the dog occupied for longer)
soft - stuffed toys

MORE mental simulation will help too (Obedience lessons)

Use the pressed rawhides, they will last longer than the cheap rawhides that you find in the stores. Usually you can find these cheaper on-line.

I also use alot of knuckle bones. Even my adult German Shepherds can't destroy these and they'll usually chew on them for a week. (But you'll want to use these outside or in a crate - they are messy for the first couple of days.)

Also, only use hard rubber balls, they are much harder to destroy. Tennis balls don't last longer than 5 minutes in my house! Kongs are really good, although my dogs never cared for them.

The chewing will slow down a little as your dog ages. Sometimes, if my dogs get a hold of something I don't want them to chew on (with my last puppy it was a section of my fence), I'll use Bitter Apple, tobasco sauce or vinegar. One of those usually works.

Good luck!

Well, I'm not sure what to give her to chew on, but if she is chewing on something you do not want her to chew on, pet stores sell a spray to cure this. You spray the item and whenever she chews on it after you spray it, it will leave a bitter taste in her mouth (I think it's called something like Bitter Spray). Good luck!

be patient and wait....labs are notorious chewers and even with the best toys and solutions, you might find that she still prefers your shoes or furniture. Bitter apple solution, you can find at petsmart, is a good item, however my dogs loved it and licked it off everything. the only thing that worked for them was to get the Kongs and fill them with peanut butter and freeze them. they would lick and bite on them for hours and kept them totally occupied. and no dog is getting through a kong. i suggest getting a couple and always having one ready in the freezer.

Have you tried sour apple spray? There are some sprays you can buy from a petstore that taste bitter. Another on is called "bitter end".... they cant stand bitter tastes and should stop them. If digging becomes a problem, try ground black pepper.

on thing that you can give her is one of those really huge chew bones that you can get from petsmart or something. what my dad and i used to do with out full breed labs is when they would do something wrong we would take them where they did something bad and rub their nose in it and tap them on the nose and tell them no and after so many times they quit.
